Please read the following information before continuing.

The Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team aims to provide an efficient and effective rescue service.  The first priority is always to casualty care.

Good training and experience in both personal and team skills are essential.

Individuals who wish to join the team will be expected to have a good base of hill craft skills. The training officer or his appointed deputy in accordance with the team-training logbook will assess these skills.

During the initial training period the probationary members will only be called to live hill incidents at the discretion of the team leader and his deputies.

All team members will be given a training logbook.  This will record all training attended, it is the responsibility of the individual to keep this record up to date.

Probationary members will be paired up with a full team member who will act as mentor during the probationary period.

The training officer will have overall responsibility for arranging the training program.

Training will be given by members with relevant experience, by outside instructors and by attendance at approved courses run at Glenmore Lodge(Scottish national sports centre).

The team recognises that attendance at certain courses can benefit both the individual and the team alike.  Every year a list of approved courses will be produced, members will be free to apply to the committee to attend such courses.

Please could you apply to join & tell us a bit about yourself & your hill experience.
