FUNDING

Like all Mountain Rescue Teams across the country, TVMRT is a voluntary organisation with charity status, relying on the generosity of many individuals, groups and organisations to help raise the funds that are necessary to run the team.

Funds are required to maintain the Rescue Centre building in Selkirk; to maintain and insure the Landrover Ambulances; to replace essential equipment; and to pay for essential training.

Money is raised by a number of means. Donations and collecting tins will raise a proportion of funds each year. Thereafter, our main fund raising event is our annual mountain challenge held in June each year. Participants can choose to pay a flat fee or raise sponsorship. This has historically raised around 50% of required annual funds.

The Team has been very fortunate to have been awarded a Lottery Awards for All grant (2000) which allowed us to equip the Members with essential outer protective clothing and more recently (2001) with a donation from Scottish Power to equip all members with a personal Mountain rescue communications radio.

Over the years there have been very many kind and generous donations made to the Team by many, many people and organisations.

If you would like to make a donation to the Team then please notify us using the feedback form, and someone will give you a call.
