Missing patient from Dingleton Hospital.  Called off as team en-route.  1 man-hour.

1996

8/2/96           0236hrs          Thursday

Search for missing forest worker who had driven into forest(Craik) in deep snow.  Man located 6 miles from abandoned vehicle in a caravan.  50 man-hours.

8/12/96          1733hrs          Sunday

Call out to search for overdue walker in the Lammermuirs.  Located by Police at a farm as team en-route.

1997

1/1/97           2200hrs          Wednesday

Overdue couple from walk in Glentress Forest.  Couple staying in Peebles Hydro.  Team searched forest areas and couple found by search dog shortly after midnight, very cold but otherwise unharmed, sheltering by a building in the forest.  Very cold night with snow on the ground and falling in flurries.  39 man-hours

19/1/97          1600hrs          Sunday

Search for a 14yr old boy missing in Glentress Forest on his bike.  As search was underway more information kept coming in and it was established that the boy had in fact runaway.  This changed the strategy and the boy was located around 2300hrs safe and well.  267 man-hours
